Your hormones may be wreaking havoc with your libido.

As we age, every hormone in our body diminishes in terms of production as well as function. The only exception to this is the hormone, cortisol, the “stress” hormone secreted by the adrenal glands. Cortisol actually rises as we get older, particularly if we are living in a stress filled environment.

Our hormones play a very important role in protecting us from the diseases of aging, including, but not limited to, heart disease, diabetes, cancer, osteoporosis, and alzheimers. When hormone levels begin to drop in our 40’s, and 50’s, many can experience symptoms of fatigue, weight gain (especially around the middle), hot flashes, insomnia, brain fog, mood swings including anxiety/depression, lack of libido, and sexual dysfunction.

At Bluetail Medical Group, we understand the importance of bio-identical hormone optimizing and the role this plays not only in your overall health and well being, but also in how your body responds to regenerative medicine treatments.  We use bio-identical hormone therapy or BHRT to optimize your levels allowing you to experience all of the benefits BHRT has to offers.

Stress Urinary Incontinence (SUI) could be the cause

Many times after pregnancy and childbirth, the supportive muscles of the bladder are weakened. Any pressure on abdomen/bladder such as laughing, sneezing, coughing or exercises such as jumping, can allow urine to leak. Often women try to manage their symptoms with pads, or by limiting their fluid intake, however, this doesn't stop the problem from getting worse.

Urge Urinary Incontinence (UUI) is another common cause

Urge incontinence occurs when you have a sudden urge to urinate, often losing urine uncontrollably. In urge incontinence, the bladder contracts when it shouldn’t, causing some urine to leak through the sphincter muscles holding the bladder closed. While this is a common issue and can affect anyone, women and older adults are at a higher risk of developing it. Other names for this condition are: overactive bladder; bladder spasms; spasmodic bladder; irritable bladder; or detrusor instability.

At Bluetail Medical Group, we offer a regenerative treatment that is calming to overactive nerves that can cause the bladder to contract or spasm when it shouldn’t.  Of course as always, we will seek to determine and treat the underlying cause before creating an injection protocol customized for you.
